It's no secret that the Loews O'Hare Love Affair wedding is going to be spectaular. Winners Savannah and Jake have been busy planning away with all of the participating vendors to put together an elegant and fun James Bond-themed wedding.
ChicagoStyle Weddings caught up with Loews Chicago O'Hare Hotel's senior sales and catering manager, Vasso Power. She gave us some awesome inside details on how the whole Love Affair began!
CSW: How did the idea for the Loews O’Hare Love Affair develop?
VP: At Loews O’Hare we host up to 80 weddings a year and we feel extremely fortunate and proud to be a part of each and every couple’s magical day. Knowing that not all couples are fortunate enough to put on the ultimate fairytale wedding, we created the Loews O’Hare Love Affair. It was designed to create one-of-a-kind excitement that can only come from bringing to life a complete “love affair.”
So last spring we teamed up with ChicagoStyle Weddings to officially kick off the wedding season by awarding a lucky Chicagoland couple with an all-expense paid dream wedding valued at $50,000. The package we created for our winners really allows for the lucky couple to celebrate big, dream big, plan big, and in essence, enjoy a picture perfect wedding.
At Loews O’Hare we celebrate innovative ideas, grand gestures and embracing the community by giving back. I think the Love Affair represents exactly that. Weddings can be expensive and overwhelming at times; we came up with a concept that eliminates both elements, by providing a complimentary out-of this world wedding and by selecting amazing partners that will assist the lucky couple in orchestrating their dream wedding (décor, floral, music, designer wedding gown etc.).
CSW: How many entrants did you have?
VP: We were really blown away by the positive response we had to the Loews O’Hare Love Affair campaign. We had more than 250 couples that entered to win, and in the end it was the huge outpouring of support that helped Jake and Savannah land their dream wedding.
CSW: What were your first thoughts about the couple who won?
VP: Savannah and Jake are young, fun and we felt their energy and excitement immediately. We have been following along as they blog about their journey online and are amazed by how truly engaged they are in the experience. I look forward to getting to know them better, but we could not have asked for a better couple.
CSW: What are you most excited see at the wedding?
VP: I cannot wait for all the pieces of the wedding puzzle to come together. Seeing everything unfold on the day of their wedding is truly fulfilling and addictive. I believe that seeing Jake and Savannah’s reaction when they first enter the ballroom will be priceless. I catch myself smiling just thinking about it.
