Real Wedding: Rachel and Andrew Logan

Share
"We met cheering on the Purdue University Boilermakers to their eventual, albeit close, loss to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Through conversations online and a few mutual friends, we began meeting for lunch on a regular basis. We bonded over good conversation and the adventurous eating our dining halls afforded us. Andrew charmed Rachel with his break dancing skills, and Rachel with her biology fun facts and never ending supply of charming personal anecdotes.

"A few short years later, a scavenger hunt through the campus where we’d fallen in love ended with a marriage proposal on a bridge overlooking the Wabash River at sunrise. We commemorated over breakfast and spent the rest of the day celebrating with our friends and family.

"Our wedding was no exception to the excitement and humble grandeur that seems to permeate Chicago. Getting married at Rivers was like having a corner of the city all to ourselves. The ceremony felt like everything was as it should be, including the zealous boaters as they passed by. Officiated by Andrew’s grandfather, we committed our lives to each other, and also to God.

"The elevated patio made the evening feel as though it was floating away into the cityscape. We choose leafy greenery to contrast the warm urban feel of the space, all the while letting the city speak for itself. Through toasts and lots of laughter, we shared a meal with all the people we love, gathered in one place. As the night grew darker, the music grew louder as not a single pair of dancing feet was left without a beat." --Rachel and Andrew
